A Shield Around Them is an original cinematic music experience created by Cing Julian as part of the Runtime Experiences collection.

This immersive runtime follows the story of firefighter Corey Comperatore and the final act that defined his legacy. Set against the backdrop of a summer day in Butler County, Pennsylvania, the experience explores the moments before tragedy, the chaos that followed, and the extraordinary decision of a husband and father who instinctively placed himself between danger and those he loved.

Through acoustic folk storytelling, reflective narration, memory-driven imagery, family moments, sacrifice, grief, gratitude, and remembrance, the story asks a profound question: What do you do when someone saves your life and dies doing it?

The runtime moves beyond the event itself and into the lives forever changed by it. It examines the burden of survival, the responsibility of memory, and the challenge of living in a way that honors a sacrifice that can never be repaid.

The title “A Shield Around Them” serves as the central metaphor of the story — a husband becoming protection itself. Not merely a physical act, but an expression of love, duty, courage, and selflessness that continues to surround those he protected long after the moment has passed.
